PRP: Platelet Rich Plasma Facial

What is PRP? Cosmetic Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial Rejuvenation uses the healing power of platelets and growth factors from your blood to stimulate stem cells to help you to grow new collagen and blood vessels, repair and regenerate damaged skin, and give your skin a healthy and youthful-looking appearance.

How Does Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Work? With Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, a small amount of your own blood is drawn into a sterile tube. Using a special centrifuge machine, the blood is spun down to concentrate and separate out the stem cells, platelets, active proteins, and growth factors that are essential for tissue healing. This small amount of concentrated blood is referred to as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). PRP is returned into the skin via micro-needling, at which point it initiates a localized stem cell response. Over several weeks and months, the stem cell response stimulates collagen-producing cells called fibroblasts. Fibroblasts work to replace tissue that has been lost or damaged due to aging with healthy skin. You'll look refreshed and rejuvenated.

IS PRP SAFE? PRP has been used medically for years to accelerate the healing process for wounds, tendon damage, ligament damage, and joint damage; and to heal diabetic ulcers and help regrow bone and muscle.

Benefits of Cosmetic PRP Facial Rejuvenation:

• Improves fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, forehead, neck and hands

• Acne Scars

• Tightening and toning sagging skin

• Mild collagen and volume loss

• Sun Damage and Hyperpigmentation

• Patients looking for alternative to or to enhance fillers

• Enhances facial shape and volume

The Key to Success -Tricking the cells into thinking there is injury The activated plasma serum behaves the same way the body would respond if there were an actual injury – healing platelets rush in to create a rich fibrin mesh. This fibrin mesh in turn calls out to natural healing cells, releasing growth factors* and stimulating the process of fibroblast production (the cells that create collagen) to energize and heal.

PRP has been used for years to speed joint, tendon and tissue repair and is a popular treatment for professional athletes such as football players, golfers and basketball players.

Our patients are seeing incredible results with this minimally invasive procedure that requires little downtime and delivers long-lasting results.

What to Expect During Treatment Total treatment time is approximately one hour. Prior to treatment, we will apply a topical numbing cream to the skin to reduce any discomfort. While the skin is being numbed, we will draw some of your blood and use our special FDA-cleared machine to generate the PRP. The dermal needling treatment itself takes about 30 minutes. Patients tell us it feels like sandpaper being moved over the skin, although it is not painful.

Generally, we recommend a series of three treatments for the best results, although some patients see noticeable results after a single treatment.
